Arthur Brown Senior Bowl Update

From Mobile, Alabama

Scratch news that K-State linebacker had left town and the Senior Bowl because he did not want to risk aggravating a new injury. That was the word Bowl officials passed down the line on Sunday.

But Monday afternoon, Brown was on the practice field with the North Squad at Ladd Peebles Stadium. It was the first of three full-scale practices for the teams.

Brown was not practicing, but he was on the field for “mental reps” and expects to get word Monday night or Tuesday morning on whether he’ll be allowed to practice this week and play in Saturday’s game.

“It’s up to them; I want to play,” Brown said after practice. “It’s something (the injury) I’ve had for some time.”

The problem is Brown’s right shoulder, which he first injured two years ago with K-State. A physical on Sunday at the Senior Bowl indicated a problem and he was not allowed to work Monday.

“I’ll either be on the field Tuesday or I’ll be down the road,” Brown said. “My goal is to play. That’s why I came here.”
