2011 Bowl Season – Holiday Bowl

  Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl

  Wednesday, December 28, 7 p.m. CST, ESPN

  Qualcomm Stadium/San Diego, California

 California (7-5)

#72 OT Mitchell Schwartz, Redshirt Senior – 6-4½, 318 pounds, 5.3 seconds in the 40-yard dash – First team All-Pac 12 Conference selection, Schwartz has started all 50 games he’s played in over the last four years with the Bears. He’s worked at both left and right tackle, with the last two seasons starting at the LT spot. A smart player, he’s learned a lot of tricks over the last four years. Schwartz is not an outstanding athlete, so his best NFL position may be at RT. The league views him as a fourth or fifth-round projection.

#92 DE Trevor Guyton, Senior – 6-2¾, 280 pounds, 4.8 seconds in the 40-yard dash – He was a second-team selection for All-Pac 12 defense this year, contributing 42 tackles and 4.5 sacks while playing both DE and NT in Cal’s version of the 3-4 defense. In 40 games, he has 88 total tackles, 24 TFLs, 10.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. Guyton also returned a fumble for a touchdown. Considered a fourth or fifth-round selection.

Texas (7-5)

#1 OLB Keenan Robinson, Redshirt Senior – 6-2¾, 240 pounds, 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash – He’s earned back-to-back second-team honors on the All-Big 12 offense. In 50 games over the last four years, he has 282 total tackles, 18.5 TFLs and 5.5 sacks, along with 2 INTS and a fumble return for touchdown in his junior season. Robinson comes out of the season ranked among the top eight OLBs available and should be a late second or early third round selection.

DT Kheeston Randall, 6-4 ½, 305 pounds, 5.1 seconds in the 40-yard dash – Big man in the middle of the Longhorns defense and it always took more than one person to move him out of the way. He wasn’t asked to rush the passer much, but when he did, he was able to produce push in the middle of the pocket. He played in 45 games for head coach Mack Brown, with 87 total tackles, 18.5 TFL, 5 sacks and 11 quarterback hits. The NFL sees Randall as a third or fourth round selection.
