I'm not putting it all on HErm because he worked with a GM that was almost impossible to win with because of Carl like of knowledge about drafting or signing current free agents, but if we get a competent Gm that wants to keep him around then he needs to get it done and I think he will.

Its not all on Tyler but next year if Herm is brought back no more excuses get it done. Hopefully Clark will bring a Gm from under the Parcells or Bellichick regime and if he retains Herm no more excuses. No more 4 and 12 or 3 and 13 seasons. We just need to win next year I'm not saying 12 or 13 games but at least 7 or 8plus wins next year. I would go as far to say win the division. The Broncos are an embarassment, The Raiders are awful, and Chargers are still having the Marty hang over despite probably winning this division this year. No more excuses we need to get it done in 2009.

I see it a 7-9 season at best, but more like another 4-12 with that schedule.

I wished it could be more, but I'm trying to keep it real.

With Dorsey, I think his play improves once the chiefs add a few LB's, honestly he will be able to do more, right now he has to play the position...Its why I really hope a Curry/Spikes in the 1st/2nd happens and break the bank, bring in Peppers...Resign Jarad Page, hes turned into a leader of sorts, I really dont think the team is that far away, but I also believe that this whole Herm in or out concept is going to cause issues....hes already talking about the strain on his family...wont take long till it becomes a bit much, and the entire staff has to be removed...I just want Charles to see more touches, for LB's to be brought in, for Flowers/Carr/Leggett to be 1/2/3 next year, and hopefully Turk can replace Tamba, Peppers could play the other side, and add in Curry/Spikes with DJ(his contract year), and I think you got a defense, finally.

I would expect as many prime time/MNF games as the Rams, Lions, Browns, and Bengals. We don't have anything to offer at this point. Even the most optimistic evaluator would say the Chiefs are at least 2 seasons away from being seriously competitive.

The schedule looks daunting right now, but it will change after the 1st week. Hardly anyone predicted the contenders for this season.

This is the real test of herm's tenure in KC. This schedule is tough but not impossible. Now the important part - WHAT DOES THE NFL THINK OF HERMAN EDWARD'S CHIEFS? How many prime time games? How many MNF games? Let us see what the outside world thinks of the obvious successes in KC (right ED).

Let us just relax. I still say maybe 6 wins in 2009. But with another major influx of first year players and no free agents like THIS YEAR, maybe a repeat of 2 wins in 2009

Yikes, that schedule actually scares me a bit, teams like the Browns will have a new head coach, and improve, same with Cinci, you also factor buffalo and jacksonville as being good teams as well.

Cant predict how the chiefs will do, but this is a tough schedule for anyone. Dallas, Pitt, NYG? Yeesh. Philly? Washington will be improved...we will see...I just hope the chiefs take Curry after a trade back and find a way to add spikes in the 2nd...just a preference.

Colby said this: December 22, 2008 - colby says:
Too early to speculate about whether this is a tough schedule or not. A lot of changes occur every year on every team. The NFC East may not be a world beater division next year. They couldn't be any tougher than the South was this year. NO,ATL,CAR,TB. Those are four excellent teams and they all ate our lunch.

Colby speaks NOT with forked tongue my fellow Chief's warriors. Look, there are so many variables in every NFL season to consider, one season to the next, that getting into the prediction game is a study in both contrasts and illusions.

All you wiser than I prognosticators, seers of all seers, should take your act to Vegas and cash in ASAP. The reality is that an organization has certain PREDICTORS of future performance without CERTAINTIES.

Selling certainty in an uncertain world was a great line in the movie "Two for the Money". In the real world, my friends, it's mostly a throw of the dice.

Speaking of changes, when Pioli (GM), McDaniels (HC), Capers (DC) and Cassel (QB) come over here from New England in the next couple of months, the Chiefs will start to look a lot more like a team nobody wants to face in 2009.

You gotta be kidding, ED! With our CURRENT situation, we'll be VERY fortunate to get 5 wins out of this schedule barring unusual injuries. Who do you think we can beat besides maybe Oakland?

You get rid of some of our coaches, depending on which ones, and MAYBE...

Man what an easy schedule except for NFC east but boy we can win about 8 to 10 games next year if we address our personel needs and get some new defensive coaches.

Hmm, too bad we have to face the best NFC division. I can imagine Buffalo and Jacksonville being better next year, so our "at large" games might not be that helpful.

Of course, playing Cleveland and the Bungles is always nice. Being in the AFC West doesn't hurt either!
